Asian Handicap is a betting market that removes the draw by applying a virtual goal or point advantage to one side.

It is designed to create fairer odds between uneven teams.

How it works

• Handicaps are expressed in whole, half, or quarter numbers

• Bets settle as win, loss, or push (refund)

• Draw outcomes are eliminated

Example

• Team A (-1.0) vs Team B

• Team A wins by 1 goal → stake refunded

• Team A wins by 2 goals → bet wins

• Draw or loss → bet loses

• Lower bookmaker margin than 1X2 markets

• More precise pricing than European handicaps

• Extremely popular in professional football betting

Important note
Quarter handicaps (e.g. -0.25, +0.75) split the stake into two bets, which affects settlement logic.
